Chamonix Piste Map

Chamonix is truly a hidden gem amongst the Alps and once you have discovered it, it brings you back time and time again....

As well as offering hugely diverse and amazing skiing and boarding, on and off piste, Chamonix is a fabulous destination as it is an Alpine town, as opposed to a purpose built resort, so offers many adventures and things to do outside of the mountains, both in Winter and Summer. The lively town offers a huge choice of apres ski and restaurants..

Ski Information

The valley floor is low and the ski areas, of which there are 6 separate ones in the Valley, start at approx 2000m with lifts reaching over 3000m. From stunning glacial peaks, to gentel rolling slopes, each ski area has something different to offer all levels. Italy is accessible just through the tunnel, meaning there are miles of pistes available and Chamonix is a mecca for off piste. The valley is home to many sponsored skiers & boarders & thrill seekers, who say there is no where quite like it  and the less adventurous enjoy it just as much!

There are 3 dedicated beginner slopes, Le Tour has the largest beginner's area, perfect for first timers and this is where our Beginner  Ski  and  Board  groups will meet for their first days initiation!

There is a vast array of moderate, challenging and difficult runs throughout the whole valley - you truly are spoilt for choice. We offer  Intermediate  lessons that move around the valley ensuring you get to make the most of each area.

Chamonix offers many steep, challenging descents both on or off piste with Grand Montets being a favourite to many locals, due to the sheer steepness and difficulty.

Off Piste

The Valley is a mecca for off pite and perhaps the most famous run is the  Vallee Blanche  - 22kms  off piste over glacial terrain and under seracs, it truly is an amazing experience but you absolutely need a guide to negotiate your way down, over crevasses and past sheer drops. It's essential you have the equipment and local knowledge needed. You can do this by joining a group or hiring your own  guide  .

There is plenty of back country skiing and boarding to be offered and the locals and guides know best and will be on the first lifts of the day! Gullies, glaciers, ski touring, kms of off piste, steeps and jumps - Chamonix is just waiting to be experienced.

For those who want to learn off piste or improve our  All Mountain Courses  (both in ski or board) offer the chance to be guided round, improving technique and showing you the different areas with  a nice round up of the Vallee Blanche on the last day.
