Security courses

It can never be stated too often that as soon as you go off-piste the minimum requirement is an avalanche transceiver together with a shovel and its companion piece a probe.
When in glacier country, you’ll need a bigger rucksack that also contains crampons, ropes, an ice axe and a harness, and not forgetting all the essential gear for assembling a z-pulley system, a complicated rope system that makes it possible for a single person to pull another out of a crevasse.

You must never ski on a glacier on your own. The mountain environment changes very quickly, and because they spend all year there the guides have a good understanding of how the terrain changes, the snow and ice conditions vary and the temperature fluctuates.

It’s advisable to use their services. In order to gain a proper understanding of the different hazards, avalanche and glacier safety courses are organised.

Avalanche Awarness
	A one day course, comprised of rescue technique training and the study of the "snow mantle" to investigate avalanche danger. 1 day 105 euros per person
Glacier security
	Course covering all aspects of the glacier security including crevasse rescue. 1 day 105 euros per person
