Winter mountaineering/Gullies
A combination of mountaineering, ice climbing and off-piste skiing, ice gully climbing is the best of all worlds. This original activity generally takes place from the beginning of winter to the end of May.
How does it work? You set off on skis to reach a gulley. You leave your skis at the bottom. You climb up, abseil down, and then put your skis back on to go back down again.
A full day that both climbers and ski tourers will love.
For example, the Frendo Gulley above the Argentière Glacier is accessible via the Arête des Grands Montets.
